As of today, Venom has been the most viewed movie in the world. Produced by Columbia Pictures, Venom was released on October 5, 2018, with Ruben Fleischer directing  leads Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams. Venom is about a reporter, Eddie Brock, who tries to get revenge on Carlton Drake(Riz Ahmed), the founder of the Life Foundation after he gets Eddie(Tom Hardy) fired from his job. While researching Drake’s experiments, Brock’s body merges with an alien named Venom. What made this movie so successful is not just because of a brilliant cast, but with its special effects, humor, and dedication.

Any fans of Marvel or of Venom, would know that Venom is known for his incredible eyes and mouth. Director Ruben Fleischer does a very good job on focusing on these two points. During an interview with Fleischer, he stated, “Obviously his eyes and mouth are his two most distinguishing features. So making sure his teeth were incredibly sharp and jagged with multiple rows. That huge tongue flapping out. No shortage of saliva any moment.” As Fleischer explains, we know that the special effects were great and no one can argue about that.

Many fans also loved that even though Tom Hardy wasn’t the best choice to be the main actor, he still put his best in this movie. According to Indiewire, Michael Nordine said, “The most important thing about this movie is that Tom Hardy does an incredible job. His character doesn’t necessarily work with or even make sense within the context of the movie, but he undeniably gives a capital-P performance. Hardy’ Brock is composed of weird facial tics, squeaky vocal inflections, and hunched body language.” I don’t think I can ever do what Hardy does because he went through many cases of where people criticized him and he was just so strong on his defense.

Monsters, aliens, and crazy people were all in this movie. Who thought this movie was going to be hilarious instead of arms ripped off, people with no heads, and people eaten by Venom Well, the truth is that this movie super funny yet entertaining. In one scene, Brock doesn’t know that his body has bonded with an alien yet and Venom was saying things to himself that made Brock freak out a bit and the whole theater was just snorting. Another scene that was funny was when Brock insisted on going down a skyscraper in the elevator. Venom, not liking what Brock was doing, calls Brock the p-word. Once again, the theater was laughing. Scenes like these really helped keep the movie going so the audience wouldn’t get bored.

I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes superheroes and Marvel characters. With the addition of a new member of the MCU(Marvel Cinematic Universe), this movie was great and I will probably watch it once more and it will be on my list of all time greatest movies. I really liked this movie and i will always remember it.
